Liturgy Commitee

The St. Ludmila Liturgy Committee meets on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in the Parish Center

Each meeting begins with a prayer led by a group member. This is followed by an in-service or study session, to help keep members informed on current Liturgical developments along with a report from each of the areas of ministry.  There is a youth representative that keeps us informed of youth activities.  This committee also oversees the church environment, which includes the plants and flowers and decorating for Christmas, Easter, and other special seasons.

The Liturgy Committee plans special liturgies for Advent, Lent, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Week, Easter Sunday, Pentecost, Mass of Remembrance, and Christmas.  Liturgies are built around the key basics of welcoming, word, Eucharist, and music.  Members of the committee help to train parishioners in various parish ministries, including lectors, ministers of hospitality, Eucharistic ministers, and altar servers.  There are about 60 specific liturgical ministers for weekend liturgies.

The Liturgy Committee is always looking for new members. The only thing necessary is a willingness to work toward active participation in the liturgies at St. Ludmila’s.  We also need more people in every area of the Mass.

If you would like to become involved please contact Father Ken Glaser at the Parish Center (319) 362-7282, or click here to send an e-mail.
